WHO AM I?

The beautiful beads on her neck is an exotic piece of art of rich origin.

Her beautiful skin blends in with the colorful pattern of her African outfit.

Strings of color and light, each bead, a world unto itself, holding stories with smooth surfaces, glimmering with untold tales. The headscarf on her head is that of a crow.

African culture at its best.

African culture at its best?

I question myself.

Am I African enough?

Deep down, I have lost touch with my rich culture.

The Western lifestyle overshadows my true self.

A daughter of the great land.

Torturing myself with these artificial extensions, imprisoning my natural hair.

Without knowing the significance of these beads on my wrist, indeed, I have lost touch with my true self.
