Black

When one is asked "what is your favourite colour?", they reply with blue, pink, orange, violet, red, indigo, purple, turquoise, yellow but black. Why? Isn't black a colour? Indeed, it is a colour but due to its negative symbols, its being disliked by others.  Some says black symbolise death  Others says its symbolise evil  But I say black isn't often associated with negativity but positively  Black symbolise power, elegant, protection and prosperity.  I proudly say, i am a symbol of black, because i am elegant. Story on African wear. TITLE: NATURE INTELLIGENCE

EVANS ASIEDU BASC27278 As beautiful as Ahenema Densikra, the beauty  of Odomamkoma's creation, smiles and breath an air of authority and intelligence.   Obaa sima, woman, mother of nature in her full glory. Projecting the black African woman in its purity.  In times like this, when men run with ropes between their legs, scouting for coca cola shaped women, covering their beauty with Mary Kay make up and Brazilian hair, I look for the optics.  What are your thoughts? Yes, you may call me archaic, colo or "krife".  But for what my eyes have seen, I'd rather accept that nothing beats the natural creation of Oboade3. Indeed, true African beauty is in the Natural African woman.

Baddies of Our Generation

Name: Davinia Owusu-Kuffour Index Number: BACS27096 BADDIES OF OUR GENERATION  Slavery has adorned itself in new garments From freedom we faced to torments Now the new servitude Is from our own fortitude  From the leaders we emulate  They shame the fathers of late Their position has changed from hunters  To nurturers  They conquer, devour, and not inspire What they seek to transpire  Is the sweet nectar That the creator  Has graced these women  Oh these men They are oldies  But they are also baddies

WHY PRETEND? By: Damnang Dorothy Tindam

Why give black a beautiful image when it speaks so well of itself. How can a color be so loud yet it has no mouth, so violent yet it wears no armor. I could pretend that I loved black but not when I saw my grandma go down six feet on a Saturday evening, where all that ever loved her were wrapped in bloody black outfits. I can pretend but not when again my aunty went down that same feet and with same goodbyes in black outfits.     I can pretend but not when every single person I ever loved and lost had their goodbyes in black.   Why are you so wicked black? Why do you bring so much pain? Come to think of it… Maybe death would never have being in existence if it had nothing to symbolize it.

Africa, our home(BACS27209)

On the 20th May,2024,Monday at the creative writing class(10am-1pm),there was a very pretty girl dressed gorgeously in an African wear. she put on an African print top known as "kaba",with African beads on her wrist and neck and with a piece of scarf known as "duku" tied around her head. The African identity is a treasure trove of pride, resilience, and cultural diversity. Being African is a unique experience that shapes our perspectives, influences our beliefs, and defines our identity. Our cultural diversity is a strength, allowing us to learn from and appreciate different traditions and ways of life. We have a rich heritage, with significant contributions to human history, from ancient civilizations to modern-day achievements. Africans have demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of adversity, overcoming centuries of colonization, slavery, and oppression. Our sense of community is strong, with a emphasis on family, social bonds, and supporting one an...
